When we leave town

It’s always sad when we travel and we can’t take the Snowieners with us. After searching for different options, a friend suggested to try in-home pet sitting and it has worked incredibly well for us.
The Snowieners go out on walks and we get pictures of their adventures.

They also get socialized and it’s fun to watch them make friends.

When I get these pictures I know they are having a blast and helps with the guilt of being far from them.

Our pet sitter is a keeper!

Do you have a good sitter in your area? How did you find him/her?

Recently our pet blogger friend from Simply Shaye brought to our attention DogVacay. Have you ever tried it?

Our sitter is not advertised in DogVacay yet. We’ll suggest she joins it.

Hiking Summit Lake

Summit Lake @ Hatcher's Pass.

Summit Lake @ Hatcher’s Pass.

Summit Lake is 2 miles and 800 feet of elevation from the Hatcher’s Pass Lodge. It was a cool (41F) and rainy day, but we wore our winter coats hiked around the lake. We ran into these four playful Labradors. They were swimming in the lake and I couldn’t help but stare. DSCN3148

So I decided to give it a try, but the water was too cold for me.

DSCN3161Then we hiked around the lake and found beautiful scenery everywhere we turned.

Pet-friendly fine dining

Eveleigh Restaurant pet-friendly seating area

A few weeks ago we returned from a trip to sunny L.A. The weather was in the 80’s and perfect for patio dining. We stayed in the West Hollywood area. Lots of restaurants have patios and welcome dogs. We tried few in the area. Nothing memorable but we were happy to be able to take our pups with us. Then we came across Eveleigh. This is a five star restaurant located in Sunset Blvd. The dog-friendly area is a little garden nicely landscaped and enclosed.

We really enjoyed our tapas (small plate) style dinning.

Parpadelle, lamb steak and patatas bravas.

Definitely, a night to remember.

Black and White Sunday

Days are getting longer and these little fellows like to play outside until late at night. We still have daylight at 10:30 p.m.

Smile, it’s Friday!

We are back to hiking!

Bailey was not even blinking when he noticed the birds in the lagoon.
