In June, I shared with you Anchorage happy days under the midnight sun. Six months later, the story is totally different. Here are some pictures of the shortest day of the year, winter solstice.
Anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Most of December days are like this, but from time to time we will get blue skies and sunny days (even though the sun does not go very high above the horizon). The good news is that starting today, sunlight will start increasing.

      Thanks. This particular solstice is definitely not the prettiest, but the sniwieners pictures make it up for it. Happy holidays!
