Autumn in Alaska

September 21st may be the official start of Autumn, but in Alaska the look and feel started some weeks ago.

Since yesterday we woke up to freezing temperatures and since last Thursday snow was spotted atop of the mountains in Anchorage.

This is what Alaskans call termination dust and it’s a sign that the Summer is over and Winter is approaching quickly.
It’s a beautiful season, but very short in Anchorage.

It’s time for the Snowieners to take out their coats…

Love that third/mountain photo! It’s starting to turn here, too. It doesn’t last long, so we’ll have to capitalize on the season.
