Saying goodbye to Summer

Earlier this summer, I shared some pictures of fireweed blooming all over. There are several myths associated with this plant. One is that once it fully blooms, Alaska has reached the end of the summer. Other myths include that once the Fireweed plant tops out, then the first snowfall is 6 weeks away.

Guess what? This is how fireweed is looking these days….

It’s not outrageous to get snow mid-October. Last year we were surprised with snow in September, although it did not stick. We’ll see what Mother Nature will prepare for us this year.
It is definitely starting to feel like Autumn.

Lovely. We finally have the heat to which we are accustomed for summer; were spoiled by a cool, rainy summer which was good for the dogs. Have a GREAT weekend.

Cute dogs! I’ve got a couple questions about them. When you get a chance, can you send me a quick email?
